Axyna is something special. As a puppy she showed natural engagement, heavy food drive, and instinctual prey drives. In the grips, she has been full, firm, and calm since I tested her as a working prospect at 7 weeks old. As an adult she continues to show no signs of stress in the bite work…always quiet and calm on the grip. In obedience, she only has eyes for the handler. This is consistent amongst her entire litter. She is by no means aggressive towards people, just ambivalent. I am her everything. She can be my lap dog, and in the same breath my working dog. It’s unreal how much she will give you for 1 piece of food or the prospect of a ball/tug. Despite being solid black she works harder and longer than any sable you’ve met no matter the weather or temperature. She grew up in the Texas heat and lives in the Florida humidity now. I have seen no changes in her behaviors or working ability. This is a trait her father passed on and can be seen in almost all of his offspring.
She is a compact female that will make you question her size in the work. Her speed and fight are bar none to other females more appropriately sized. But good things come in small packages, and she always brings a crowd at trials. Tracking is my Achilles heel and it shows in her early work. The great thing is that she is moldable despite my fuck ups early on and her tracking is significantly improved. We will be going to RH (search and rescue) nationals in September and have plans to do a FH. Article indication has never been a problem. She can find an article even if it’s off the track by 10 feet.
At home, like I said…she could be my lap dog or working dog despite her twitchy personality. She is great with the kids and other adults (male or female). I’ve never been worried about her biting someone. Even at the vet, they can draw her blood from the neck for weekly progesterone testing and she needs no muzzle and shows no response to pain.
I have handler-owner-trained several dogs, but she's the first one to take me to nationals. I owe her everything. *Chef's kiss* of a dog.
She is the daughter of the famous 2x WUSV Neo vom Grenzlager, IGP3 and comes from a litter of 7 that ALL went to working homes. 6 are actively training in IGP, while the 7th is a service dog. We LOVED what this litter produced so much, we brought home 2 of them, Axyna and Aegon (male)! My sister owns Aegon and is taking him to the 2023 USCA Nationals.
This is a special girl to us and will live with Büserhaus till her last day on this earth.
Definitely need to update for a new one after she delivers her first litter, and gets back to work.
8 weeks grips...always full, firm, and calm
Learning the Lars Lentz style....this changed everything for us.
